Careers in (German) research much more dependent on family background than before

Christina Möller, PhD student with German sociologist and elite researcher Michael Hartmann at TU Darmstadt, conducted a study which shows that the chances to become a professor is today even more dependent on family background than before. This effect seems to be especially strong with junior professorships, and more pronounced in women than in men. Article published on Tagesspiegel (German newspaper based in Berlin)
