Students with migrant background underestimated in education

The study “Bildung, Milieu, Migration” (Education, Milieu, Migration) uses the model of social migrant milieus developed by Sinus-Institute, Heidelberg, Germany, and applies it to the education sector. The study shows the very different lifeworlds of students in school and identifies typical experiences in education: Students with migration background often lose valuable time in their journey through the German education system. The potential of this group is underestimated throughout their education, life-long.
